IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Commentary: Rudyard summed up precisely the very kinds of things that we all struggle with in our daily life. We are a 'work' in progress. To find the right balance for us, as well as with others each day, is not always easy. In fact, it can be both challenging, and rewarding, at the same time.
As for me, I am actively working inside myself, in not being so analytical, and serious all the time. Those who care about me, have brought this issue to my attention on a few occasions. It is important to live in the moment, and embrace it for what it is, as best we can each day.
The journey of self-growth is a wonderful journey. It is also a true delight to share that journey with others, even when I may not be at my best. I appreciate those who care enough about me, and the relationship I have with them, to speak the truth in love. None of us are balanced in every single area of our life, as we may want, and need to be. But at least we are all taking positive steps in that direction each day. That is the important thing to remember.
